Disagree. I believe EP is the same player MCW is.

And to top it off I bet PG stays in OKC. I bet he would of stayed here after a season of playing with Dame/CJ too.

Payton is shooting over 50% and 37% from outside. Is it a fluke? Maybe, but he’s been consistent every month.

Not "give" - we had to PAY to have Noah's contract hauled away. We PAID to get rid of Crabbe, and we PAID to get rid of Noah. Noah, who we traded Nic for. Nic who, had we kept him, would have kept us from making the biggest mistake of them all - signing Turner.

    Let THAT sink in.

He also shot decently from three in 15-16. Only to regress to MCW levels the following year.
Both players fill the box score.
    Both players are decent defenders.

Neither can be relied apon as a #1, or even #2 option offensively, and frankly it's a real question if they could be relied apon as a #3 option.
    Seem pretty similar to me.

Last time MCP was starting he put up 11/5/5 with 1.5 steals
EP this year is averaging 13/4/6 with 1.5 steals.

Pretty similar numbers. Even their a/t ratio is similar.

I'd be pretty shocked if EP's career path doesn't take a similar road as MCW's.

Orlando's trades look suspiciously like internet fans are at the helm. "Look, Real GM accepted that one! Wait, did it just go through?"

Basically we trade Batum who was doing nothing and now have Turner who does nothing

You do realize the cost of shedding contracts in this NBA climate right now is picks...you guys are complaining about one of the richest owners in SPORTS using his cash to get out of bad contracts.

Is this the deadline we wanted? No. But very few people here are realistic. This isn't 2K, there have to be two parties that want to make a trade. I think the Blazers have a solid chance of landing Kevin Love this offseason regardless of if LeBron leaves. If this moves keeps us away from the repeater tax and would allow us to afford being in the LT if we possibly get Love to pair with CJ/Dame and maybe even Nurk depending on what it takes to get Love then it's a solid move.

I knew we would do nothing, I blame espn for inventing the trade machine and turning everyone into a backseat gm.

actually getting under the luxury tax does much more than just saving the team money. Educate yourself on how the NBA works.

Trade machine? There will always be the wanna be GM's regardless if a trade machine is available or not.

Cup, I agree getting under cap is a win. Continuity is important and teams that make huge changes mid stream seem to struggle for rest of season. I see us having more room for trades during the off season.

    Nobody cares about the cash.

My prediction all along was that the Blazers would make a trade for the primary purpose of avoiding future repeater tax. Any other benefit would be secondary or good fortune.

Aside from the tax itself and the eventual repeater penalties, the other effects of the tax come from being above the apron, not the tax line itself. Since the Blazers were only 2.8M over the tax line, they were well under the apron, so dealing Vonleh to get under the tax line didn't in fact do anything for the Blazers except save them money.

The trade machine has been around a lot longer than that. Where do you think RealGM got its start?

So we will have the non tax MLE to offer? Don’t have to clear any more salary?
