It was obvious something was wrong from the beginning but I didn't know if he was still a victim or if he was part of it.

I honestly thought it more likely that an ex or someone's boyfriend did it to get him and make it look like someone else did it.

If Smollett in fact staged this, as seems to be coming to light, then he has brought a detriment to blacks and other minority groups who constantly experience hate crimes. He has spit in the face of social movements towards equality. I haven't said anything about this, till now but have been following it. From the beginning it seemed rather strange, but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.

It was pretty amazing how willing everyone was to believe it even though the story sounded off from the start, heck I even saw CJ being outraged about it on Twitter. Of course not that many people are walking it back now that the facts have come out.
