Mike Conley? WTF?! (Trade rumor)

That seems like a desperation move. But, you never know, Conley could end up being very good.

I do like this part though.

Pritchard knows that Conley has the credibility to get in Oden’s face when he needs a push, and that’s played an important part in his trade explorations.

confirmed...KP doesnt want us in the playoffs

CONLEY FOR OUTALW AND SERGIO?????

IS HE HIGH????

This one just won't die. I don't like the idea of losing Sergio in this deal. So far, he has shown more in this league than Conley.

So we really want Conley because he's Greg's best psychologist?

Warrick is supposed to be included as well. No defense but I think he's better than Frye as a backup PF

This was interesting:

The Blazers have been active on several trade fronts, including discussions earlier this season with the Atlanta Hawks that would’ve included a package for point guard Mike Bibby. Those talks died when the Hawks started the season with five straight victories.

Bibby would have been a huge addition for the Blazers. I wonder what we were willing to give up.

I am a big proponent of keeping Outlaw.
Outlaw AND Sergio for Conley and spare parts, we better be getting a pick back in the deal.

Oh, yeah... soooooo "confirmed." I mean, after all, if "Yahoo! Sports" says it, it MUST be true! Do you honestly take yourself seriously? Seriously... !?

In other news, it sure is unfortuante that reading comprehension isn't bestowed upon all!

I don't think this trade kills our playoff chances. Conley and Bayless will have to run the 2nd unit (which is a little scary) and we lose clutch shooter Trout. So, it definitely isn't a trade that makes us better this year, and it really crowds the PG position -- Bayless, Critteron, Conley, Blake. Still, I would reserve judgment. I would hope that the market for Trout is better than Conley.

being able to get to greg mentaly, and more importantly, get greg the ball in the post, should not be underrated. Conly would be a steal for us, memphis stinks, he would be the 5th option here.

I'd rather give up Blake than Sergio. Conley is just redundant. A small guard, that can't shoot, can't defend, can't penetrate, and can't pass.

We've been hearing these rumors since the summer.

Outlaw has elevated his stock by improving his outside shooting and defense. Meanwhile, Conley is beginning to look like a guy who may be out of the league in two more years.

What would be the point? Adding another PG who would likely compete with Bayless for an active roster spot? I wouldn't trade Sergio for Conley at this point, so if he is part of the "filler", the trade makes even less sense.

Why. So none of the PGs have a consistent spot-up 3 pt game?

The talks have been ongoing for weeks, sources said, and could be inching toward a completion.

This move is all about Greg Oden. Though, Conley does have a ton of potential. Looking at their roster, the Griz don't have much else to throw in.

Bibby in a deal that includes Outlaw and a PG makes sense.

Mike Conley though? MIKE CONLEY???

+1. From the sound of the article it's Portland that needs to up the ante. Outlaw for Conley would be a steal for Memphis at this point, but if we do get Conley we need to trade either Sergio or Blake unless we just plan on keeping Conley to be Greg's best bud. Mikey would be the highest paid entourage member in Oden's clan.

If Oden is to become the star we think he can be, he shouldn't need Conley to get in his face. That's what Roy is for.

I used to be a huge Conley guy, but he just isn't doing anything. I'd rather see Bayless play.

I don't like the Conley trade either but will wait this time until we see how it works before complaining very much. I rememeber at first I was really upset with the Zach trade but now think it worked out great for us.

Bibby is washed up. I'd rather get Conley as he at least has some upside. However, I don't want to give up Sergio. This is especially the case if we're doing this solely to reach out to Oden.

Tortimer -- I agree with you. If it happens, I will reserve judgment. It just seems like a risky move to me and I think you could get a lot more than Conley for Outlaw. Maybe they are interested in Conley, but are leaking this story to hopefully increase the interest in Outlaw.:dunno:

Why do we need our PG's to have a consistent spot-up 3pt game? We have too many jumpshooters as it is. I'd rather have Sergio's playmaking abilities over Blakes no defense, spot-up jumpshooting. Plus the Rudy factor is there with Sergio.

I would have been in favor of this last year, but the way Conley has played this year makes me VERY wary....

i actually think conley needs oden more than oden needs conley. and that conley will rise to top form around oden again.

I like the deal and think it is decent. But it seems more like a horizontal move than anything
