Meyers Leonard says he "absolutely" feels comfortable shooting three-pointers and plans to show off that range in Summer League

LOL outstanding, and exactly what they told him to work on, I'm sure

I don't know why this comes as a surprise. Leonard is a shooting center. Perhaps us fans just didn't want to get hip to the scene before it happened?

I'm watching a replay of the Orlando/Philly game. One thing I was certain of heading into the draft was that I didn't want to have anything to do with MCW. After watching him multiple times this SL it only reinforces my thought on that.

With his new contacts, Freeland should be able to clearly see the ball being dunked through the basket.

Blazers:
Portland Trail Blazers

C.J. McCollum: How did an elite scoring guard who can shoot off the dribble, get to the rack and light up defenses designed solely to stop him end up attending Lehigh instead of a major school? It might have something to do with McCollum being 5-foot-2 and looking like this in high school.

Allen Crabbe: The Blazers second unit was atrocious last year, and Crabbe looks to help a bunch with his elite use of screens and sharpshooting from deep. Crabbe may be a little one-dimensional, but as the old saying goes: If you can shoot, you can play.

Meyers Leonard: It can be very difficult for big men to shine in this guard-dominated setting, but Leonard spent most of his rookie season blending into the pack the same way he did in last year's summer league. He’s still a project figuring it out, but defensively and on the glass, it’s fair to expect more from that monster frame.
we play the Lakers:
Los Angeles Lakers

Robert Sacre: High-energy 7-footers who hit free throws always have a spot on an NBA roster, but Sacre's extracurricular activity is what makes him fun to watch. What will happen when Sacre plays for Lakers summer league coach and expert celebrator Mark Madsen? Hopefully the answer is dance-offs.

Chris Douglas-Roberts: If the Lakers are getting the band back together to pacify Kobe Bryant, they might as well add versatile wing Chris Douglas-Roberts to the equation. Although CDR’s time with the Lakers was brief, he wrote candidly (or humble flashy?) about his time under Kobe's wing here.

Souleyman Diabate: Everyone go home -- we have a runaway winner for best name at summer league. Souleyman is a 6-foot point guard coming off his best season in France, but he’ll have a hard time getting shine over reigning summer league co-MVP Josh Selby. Still, he could probably fill the name gap Metta World Peace left behind.

East Preview:

Game 2 is against Chicago:

Chicago Bulls

Marquis Teague: Little brothers, unite! Jeff Teague’s younger brother Marquis played very well in limited time last season for the Bulls, so Chicago will see if they can strike it rich again by inviting Tony Allen’s younger brother Ryan and Carlos Boozer’s younger brother Charles to Las Vegas. If Charles and Ryan are half as vocal as their brothers, we’re all in for a treat.

Erik Murphy: Sometimes player comparisons can get a little wacky, but Murphy is a Matt Bonner clone all the way. The stretch big man shot 45 percent from behind the arc in his last season from Florida, so he could be a useful situational player this season if his defense is up to par.

Tony Snell: Here’s another long wing defender with an underrated jumper for Tom Thibodeau to play with. That’s a frightening proposition for opposing wings out East.

Picture of CJ in high school. Wow. Glad he grew up.

Kinda bummed... working a wedding (videography) tomorrow from noon till midnight... Cant watch the game :/

Schroeder already made a very nice pass. I really wanted that guy! Bebe looks good, too.

Everybody's been bitching about these T-shirt shirts that a lot of the teams are wearing. I like 'em! Best thing about them? Removes the call for manscaping.

Gobert had 10 reb and 3 blocks in 23 minutes. Not bad. Light competition on the other side though.

His court sense is impressive for a 19 year old pg. Interested to see how he finishes at the rim and even he shows any mid range game. If he doesn't it could really take away from his passing ability.

When are the blazers playing and will there be any way to listen to the games?

Bravo to Austin Rivers for actually looking like a NBA player so far this time around

Another SWEET pass from Schroeder to a streaking Muscala. With Bebe, Schroeder and Muscala, this Atlanta team is stacked with guys we were talking about before the draft.

(Incidentally, it's not Shrooder, it's Shrerder (only pronounced the English way, silent 'r'). Why is it that Americans treat every foreign syllable as an "oo" (as in Peugeot, which is also an "er" sound)?)

Didn't recognize Tyronn Lue (now assistant coach with the Clips) without the braids.

Wow - Marjanovic could appear in a Lord of the Rings movie with no makeup required... He's like a seven foot goblin. His ears alone are amazing.

...see what I mean?

I nominate him as the New Gheorghe Muresan. He's actually pretty good! For someone who moves as fast as continental drift.

T-shirts don't hide enough on some guys.

Because there's a fucking O in it and not a fucking R?

But the o in Schröder has an umlaut, so Rasta is correct. It's not that hard.

Most professional sports commentators (in every sport) are anything but when it comes to name pronunciation.
