For the unrealistic homer snowflake in all of us, let this be a safe-space to expound on all the reasons this coming Blazer season can/will be the best one of this millennium.

Dame has gone vegan to improve his conditioning, meaning he will be more effective than ever.

CJ has noticeably added muscle, likely improving his ability to finish in the paint.

Nurkic is in the best shape of his career; the Bosnian Beast will be even more beastly than what we saw after the trade, and that will positively impact his health as well.

ET has reworked his jumpshot; 33% or better shooting from 3 this year is a foregone conclusion.

Noah and Moe have never looked better than when they were playing alongside Nurkic; just imagine how great it will be for them to have him for a full season!

Ed and Meyers are both fully healthy and ready to provide the kind of play off the bench we saw from them in 2014-15 (Meyers) and 2015-16 (Ed).

And I haven't even mentioned Shabazz, Morrow, Layman or the rookies. So many reasons to be excited!!

Takes me back to the days after we drafted Oden when we were arguing if it would be five championships or six.

This has nothing to do with the Blazers, but I used that phrase in front of my wife's nephew and he heard it as "hope springs a turtle" and now I have to own a turtle and call it "Hope Springs".
Or, find someone named Hope, and convince her to liberate a pet turtle from its confines while you document the process, and then publish the video under that title.

98% of the threads on here could be called HOMER threads.
However, I made a point to identify this one specifically as such, and did so for a reason. Some people actually like to be excited about the team they root for. I'm trying to do you "realists" a favor by isolating our unabashed optimism here.

However, if there's anything in particular about this year's Blazers that you are optimistic about or looking forward to, feel free to share.

I'm looking forward to the battle between Swanigan, Vonleh, and Collins for minutes. I wish I could be a "realist" and have reservations about our two rookies but I was a fan of both before we drafted them so whatever. Swanigan has an it factor that reminds me a lot of Lillard when he was a rookie. All business. Expect him to play this year.

Hmmmmm...... let me think about that for a bit.

Nurkic is as good as we think he is and looks like a top 3 center in the league. Portland had Nurk fever last year. This year, the fever goes nation/world wide. It doesn't seem like we improved on paper between last season and the current season, but I think a lot of people are underestimating the impact that an in shape, happy, focused, and dominant Wild Eastern Beast can bring the team.

It's a Nurkidemic!!

if aminu and myers can just return to pre injury form and hit 36-37% we'll be better. with josef's gravitational pull there will likely be a lot better looks from the three and hopefully no one turns them down like AC. aminu won't, unsure about myers. if others are making the shots, Josef's likely to get his own easy buckets in the paint and better offensive rebounding opportunities if they miss. everyone plays 82 games is my hope.

i really REALLY hope we get a healthy Ed of yesteryear back this season. he was underwhelming with the injury, i hope he plays like he has something to prove, cause he does.

How certain of Blazers success are we? So certain we're starting our happy dances BEFORE the season even starts.

Here's @dviss1 in action:
