Same here. This team really rejuvenated him after coming from the worst team in the league and made him really hungry to play. And then with Nurk going down he had to really step it up and has. Man I would hope so much for some sort of discount to try and resign him, but will see.
 
I am in awe at how much respect and admiration I have developed for Kanter since we picked him up. Even beyond basketball but on the court when someone says "I gave all I had" or "I left it all on the court" he is one of the few I believe. Major props and I am already bummed we won't be able to keep him.

We WILL be able to keep him. He wants to be here. Do you think after all this effort during this magical post-season that Kanter would want to be ANY where else but Portland? Even if the money looks good elsewhere...the guy loves it here. He’s staying. Bank on it.

The more he talks, the more I'm wondering if we will be able to keep him. He is giving his heart and soul to this team.
 
I hope he plays Sunday. It will hard to win without him.

Then there is a young Kanter. Shoulder will heal fine with rest.

Trade Nurk for more pieces and salary and sign Kanter for the future?

Man. Poor Nurk if that happened yet again to him.
 
Let's enjoy Enes while it lasts. Other teams are watching him play too and someone will throw money at him, where we won't be able to compete.
Let's say $10-$12 mil.
Here is the more likely scenario: Enes signs with another team (Hornets). His new team stinks and midway through next season, we trade Meyers for Enes.

Is it possible to sign a future contract or a heavily padded contract in later years?

Like sign him for mle for one year with gursntee of another salary?

Or sign him but on a salary where he gets paind mle wage next year but more in later yesrs?

Say:

Year one...4.2 mill
Year two...5.9 mill
Year three...9.9 mill
Year four...15 mill


He has already been paid. He doesn't need money right away.

Nurk will be 25 in August.
 
Oshley needs to be fired ON THE SPOT if Kanter isn't re-signed.
