Or we could have just as easily been the ones that sold them for 2nds or just sign some useless vets a la Charlotte and Detroit. Easy to look at the one team that had capspace and did something good with it and not the other bottom dwellers that were in the same position and couldn't get anything out of it.

So Mike Richman said he couldn't come up with a decent Grant trade in his show today. Looking around the league, here are the teams that could realistically use him right now:

    Cleveland
    Heat
    Hornets
    Thunder
    Clippers
    Mavs
    Pelicans
    Lakers
    Kings
    Warriors

Who of those teams have resources?

I looked at that list and no matter if some want to say different the Grant landing spots are drying up fast at least for now and prolly through first of the year or so then you will see teams reevaluate and then some options will re-emerge but now the options are limited to very limited in terms of getting what Grant is worth. Let me look at the list ... One other thing is some of these teams are 2nd Apron team meaning -Players cannot be aggregated in a trade -- making it harder to make trades with teams like this

Cavs - very little and do not even have a 1st round pick until 30' meaning they cannot even offer two firsts so they are --- OUT plus 2nd Apron
Heat - A tad more but the biggest piece the Blazers do not want / need ( Herro ) so guess what now --- OUT - 2nd Apron
Hornets - WHY -- Let me repeat WHY would they be so STUPID and I mean epic level of stupid to bring in a player that would hurt the growth of Miller and Salaun -- OUT
Thunder - I could see the Thunder MAYBE being a player BUT they have assets galore coming out of there asses why would they waste them on Grant instead of a Durant / Butler - FA nxt summer just to name two and prolly a few I am missing
Clippers - They have NOTHING this teams wants and super limited draft picks so .... OUT
Mavs - Maybe at the deadline but for now plus they have very little this team would want plus limited Draft capitol -- OUT
Pels - Well this team has 50% of what is needed they have draft capitol galore but unless they just decide to do a Grant for Ingram ( not happening ) then not out but -- SUPER UNLIKELY
Kings - Before bringing in DeMarr I would have said ya but now while possible I would say --- NOT LIKELY but maybe a tad more at deadline but still
Warriors - 2nd Apron team so unless they are willing to give up a Kuminga ( yeah right ) and if they were I think the Blazers would be giving up assets not other way around -- so -- NOT LIKELY
Lakers - We know they can and have ok assets but now it's a waiting game to see who blinks first

I think I have laid this out very well so NOW who wants to say the options have not dried up ?? -- cause they have at least for now dried up but at the deadline maybe something but now -- Lakers and pretty much that is it - FACTS

    nope.

July 6, 2024 – Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson announced today the team has acquired guard Josh Green, guard Reggie Jackson and 2029 and 2030 second-round picks via Denver in a six-team trade. As part of the deal, Charlotte sends a 2025 second-round pick (via Philadelphia) and cash to the Nuggets.

I'm pretty sure the Charlotte presser is wrong lol. It was a 6 team trade, not surprising some details were confused by PR folks. Two seconds were sent by Charlotte to Dallas. One was kept by Dallas. The other was then routed to GSW for Klay, which was then routed AGAIN to Philly for Buddy Hield. They received the 2 seconds for taking on Jackson. So it ended up being net neutral for Charlotte, if we're being nitty on the details.

I will admit I struggled with that. I like Walker as well, relentless on the boards. He works hard each summer and I would not be surprised to see his 3-point percentage improve to the mid-30s. Also why I would be ok if they traded Grant for 2 picks.

Instead of a Lakers trade, head north to Sacramento.

Grant + Duop + Banton = Keegan Murray + Huerter + Lyles [SAC can use some size and 3 pt shooting with Reath and Banton's size at guard.][Portland gets younger in filling out their roster. Portland may have to sweeten it, actually.]

SAC: Fox, Monk, DeRozan, Grant, Sabonis -- win now
POR: Scoot, Sharpe, Avdija, Keegan Murray, Ayton -- win later

That ain't enough. We got three seconds just for trading the 34th pick.

Walker shot a career high from 3 last year - at 29%. With Deni/Clingan we don't need Walker rebounding much. Camara defense is much better. I'd be surprised if Walker beat him out, but ideally both of these guys are 3rd string.

Yeah I don't trust the guy who signed GP2.0 and hardcapped the Blazers, as well as was here giving input for the 2016 free agency debacle.

    Initially put this in the Dame thread but its probably makes more sense here. I like the idea of getting the Bucks 2031 unprotected pick, it also would make us further as the most likely trade partner if they decide to trade Giannis and rebuild in a few years. However Middleton/Lopez should be routed elsewhere for picks. One possible idea;

His relation or rather him being a huge part of the Olshey years is a really hard thing to get over. The way he kept telling us he was going to "push all of our chips in" to build a contender around Dame yet there was never a whisper of a rumor about us guaranteeing the Bulls our pick and using multiple FRPs to make that happen. The Jerami signing and then keeping him and Malcolm all last season. What you said about GP2. Just the fact that there didn't seem to be any actual normal interview and hiring process when he was promoted. It is very hard to have a lot of confidence in Cronin to do things the right way.

If Cronin sticks to the rebuild — one where Grant and Ant are traded by February — and Thybulle … and maybe Time Lord.
If he works the rebuild on a smart timeline, then we have a GM. If he gets reasonable (not excellent) value, then his next hire as head coach is something I’ll give a lot of leeway to.
