Agreed. I'd want DLo as well...well actually, I'd want whatever we could flip DLo for, hopefully another first.

For me, I don't care who it is, as long as we can flip them for value.

Rui makes more sense for both teams. To me, they have a similar skill set. Rui shot 42% from 3 this year.

For defense and hustle, they keep Vanderbilt and his long but team-friendly contract, and we get more minutes to play Camara.

Rui would actually be a nice rotational forward for this team, because he's a good shooter, and efficient on offense, something we sorely lack. Rui and Devi are a decent pair of forwards.

Not that either are defensive juggernauts, but Rui has the same long wing span as Grant but is 20 lbs heavier.
Not sure if that matters, but it did surprise me.

It's nice to have someone that can shoot without being a chucker like Grant is.

I would want more than Rui and one pick for Jermami and Timelord. They are desperate

True, but they were also generally behind Kuzma and Washington. It would be a different relationship here if Grant is traded for Rui, in that both Rui and Deni would be starting.

why is Grant a chucker and Ant isn't?

    FGA/game: Ant 18.2....Grant 15.7
    FGA/100-possessions: Ant 26.1....Grant 22.9
    Usage Rate: Ant 28%....Grant 25.7%
    TS%: Ant .568....Grant .573

per game, Ant scored 1.6 more points on 2.5 more shots. Per 100-possessions, Ant scored 1.9 more points on 3.2 more shots. Ant scored 1.24 points/shot; Grant scored 1.33 points/shot. In Dame's last season in Portland he averaged 1.55 points/shot

I think Grant is more prone to put hoist up bad shots with time on the shot clock. Ant does shoot a lot, but it seems more within the offense. His TS% will improve once he learns to drive more and get to the foul line.

Grant is good offensively, very good. But distracts from team play. You might make the same argument about Ant, but having 1 is more tolerable than 2. And Ant is a pretty good passer, better than he gets credit for.

sorry....I think your bias may be showing. Ant takes 69% of his shots in the first 15 seconds of the shot clock; Grant takes 68%. If Grant was taking worse shots early, he wouldn't have a better TS%

as far as your theory of Ant improving his TS% by getting to the FT line: his FT rate climbed from .171 to .213 this season. But his TS% dropped from .581 to .568

Pretty sure it was reported multiple times last season that Billups was pressuring Grant to jack up more shots.

Ant's TS% fell because his 2pt% fell, his mid range shot specifically. He's a 90% FT shooter. More FTs, the better his TS% will be. I know this is painfully obvious to you, being a numbers guy, so not sure what you're driving at.

I'd expect Ant to take more shots in the first 15 seconds because he's a guard. It's not bad to take a shot early as long as it's a good shot. It's hoisting up a contested jumper with a lot of time on the clock that's annoying.

And if Grant were 24 years old, it would be a different story, but he's on the wrong side of 30 and doesn't fit with the teams timeline.

The chucker bullshit is so overused, no matter who we are talking about. I guarantee that if Grant goes to LA he will not be shooting too much.
Coaching and who you are playing with are huge factors.
