Thats the key. There aren't enough like minded people to make for a peaceful change. Too many independent thinkers and know it alls that will go vigilante.
Hundreds of gangs doing as they please with a safe zone for those who are with them.
The bulk of people will hunker down and let the wannabe warlords create anarchy

I don't see it. That would take millions of people to overcome our military. And they'd need the support of the population to do it.

And this will not be good for the population.

The independent vigilantes will not be able to organize effectively or keep themselves fed.

At worse they'd knock off some power in a few places, and do some mass shootings... But as soon as the US troops moved in it would be over.

I'm not not at all concerned about this scenario.

Oh our military would splinter and start following their political puppets. Some defect. Some actually create a mutiny, etc.

I agree, not likely but its the dooms day scenario that is definitely possible.

Every splinter would be far less powerful than those that remained. Which would be at least half. The only way I can think to get enough military to defect with a common goal would be for the government to start ordering attacks on peaceful civilians.

And that's not going to happen unless we fuck up and elect another Trump or worse.

I think we are just that stupid. (See bolded)

im not saying there wouldn't be a side significantly more powerful than the other, but it would become chaos for the most part for the average citizen.

Here's what we should do. Everyone needs to declare allegiance to the left or the right. We then will have to wear our designated color of either red or blue. On a designated day we all line up opposite of each other with single shot muskets and shoot. The side with the most survivors is the winner. The end!

I think they should square off on a civics and world history test...winner takes all. No matter what they do, I'll be the guy in black that keeps score only. I've seen Squid Games!

Well, yes. Because everything is perfect in heaven, Republicans don't appear on the ballot.
Nor do they show up to vote, since Satan has them otherwise occupied.

All due respect, I vote for issues. Which candidate most closely aligns with my views on my core issues. And usually, not always, candidates who support civil rights, women making our own health decisions, freedom to read, voting rights IMO are usually, not always, people of better character than those who want to overturn civil rights, ban abortion and birth control, ban books, make it harder to vote. There are exceptions. Bill Clinton was personally a jerk and not worthy of his smart wife.

People voting on issues, rather than voting for the best quality candidate, is how we got Trump.

Last Pres election, after research, it was my opinion that Amy Klobuchar was the highest quality candidate. I did not agree with her on every issue. But this country would be more united, and in better shape today with Amy rather than sleepy Biden at the helm. I do not trust Biden.

I think we'd be in the same place with Amy Klobuchar (vs Biden, Trump was obviously among the worst possible candidates).

People didn't vote for Trump on issues. They voted based on white resentment.

People voted for Trump based on Making America Great Again. Like back in the 50s when women and minorities damn well did what they were told... Or else...

Care to elaborate? Poll after poll showed racial resentment by biggest factor in supporting Trump. People outraged that a Black man has been president. People who were terrified that country was becoming majority non white.

    More bullshit.

I have never voted for Trump because I dislike his character. I disliked his character long before he ran for office.

You claim to vote on issues, not character. But you can not debate the issues Trump ran on. So you spread made up faulty bullshit to attack his character.

Here are the 3 main reasons/issues people voted for Trump. And continue to support him today.

    1) Immigration/wall
    2) lower taxes
    3) renegotiate foreign trade deals to protect American jobs
