This year will be the last year that some of the games are available on KGW.

Thought this factoid deserved its own thread. Now the lowest economic class will have even less access to watching Trail Blazer games here in Portland. This is a huge fail and while I doubt the franchise will provide an answer I think we deserve one (WTF?).

My in-laws live off social security and a small retirement, my father-in law has cancer to which most of his expendable income goes toward. When I see him he is always excited to talk about the last Blazer game (which in his mind is the last one he saw on KGW). Anybody else effected by this or know anybody who is?

FREE TV IS THE BEST.

fuck cable. gonna cut that shit in October (I have a promo going so I;m only paying about 40 bucks a month until then for a $100 package but its on a contract.

My parents. They can only get Satellite where they are, now only games my dad can watch are national.

Definitely gotta get Playstation Vue... that's the only reasonable option.

Blazers alienating fans...wtf

Yes, the KGW games were all I could get.
But the question I have is, why do they do this???
Can't come up with an answer, except they don't know what the hell they are doing!

Do you know how fast your Internet connection needs to be for that to work smoothly?
Nope. I've been watching Sling TV on my Amazon Fire TV device and running it through a router with lower bandwith and it's been running fine.

If you have an Amazon Fire device, why don't you just sideload Kodi on it and get everything for free. You have to nerd out pretty hard but once it's set up, it's a breeze.

If PA keeps it up his nose is going to be too long to sit court side.

Raw deal for people that don't have alot of money like me I will keep my dish hopefully someone pull there head out of there ass.

Yeah. I have a lot of friends who work irregular hours and occasionally turn on the Blazers a few times a year. They aren't hard core but this option allows them to continue to follow the team. I have a Playstation and only get MLB.TV because it's convient. I will not do the same for the Blazers. I've always felt strongly that professional sports acts a pressure release valve for the masses. If it is not at least available to all at even the most basic level..... (Think about somebody with schizophrenia in a understaffed group home watching the Blazers as maybe his only joy in life.)

There is then no reason for pro sports to exist.

Sorry.... that's just the way I feel.

If some of the many newly christened homeless now living downtown want to make a human ladder..... I know a good hole in the wall of a PDX sports bar. I'm told the blinking lights from the poker machines can be annoying, but you can get uses to them after an hour. Just take 10 minute turns. There's also left over Hot Wings in the dumpster if they get hungry. Sports entertainment can be fun even without a budget. You just have to think outside the box.

Well this is bullshit. I've been going over to a friend's, my parents, or the bar for Comcast games the past several years, but have always most enjoyed watching KGW games by myself at home. Watching alone I get to really focus on what's going on, rather than being half-invested in the game while also socializing with friends.

The argument is that the KGW games aren't broadcast on CSN, which means that CSN only has ~60 Blazer games with which to entice carriers. By cutting the KGW games, CSN can now broadcast all 82, which will make their network slightly more appealing to carriers. Which could conceivably result in DirecTV and Dish finally making a deal with CSNNW.

So long story short, by taking some games from everyone, they hope to make all games available to the most people.

CSN will not broadcast all 82 games. A couple games will be on TNT only.
True, but they have no control over that. The main premise stands, though. CSN now gets as many games as they possibly can.

Thanks for taking the time sir. And I read that, sort of, I just did a loop around the wall though, instead of finishing.
I would be pleased to be wrong, but there is nothing in it for Comcast to put it on the Satellites nor is there much reason for the satellites to add ComCast (at their price).
Perhaps the satellites could suck a few customer away from Comcast. If Dish pays Comcast for the feed, where are their going to get the pay back? Everyone that needs Dish (or Directv) already has it. The only payback is to attract new customers from Comcast. Why does Comcast do this??? They don't unless it is in the contract that they must do it. The Warriors have their games on Comcast(Bay Area) and Dish and DirectV at the basic price, because they require it to be so. It is their right as the broadcast owner. People in the City use cable mostly, many can't even get a satellite. People out side the City use Satellite, many don't have cable as an option.

The Blazers needed to make it a requirement of the contract, otherwise it ain't going to happen!

Did you read the various articles on the new TV deal? Those details (incentives/opt outs) are in the new contract.
