Roy= 28 ppg, looking like an MVP candidate, since Oden went down

Can't we find a way to win a championship without Oden? We might HAVE to. Lakers won last year without a dominating center. Celtics won the year before without a dominating center. The Bulls won 6 without a dominating center. Maybe we should start figuring out how to build around Roy and win that way.

Simple, what we need to do is hope Martel turns into Ray Allen, LaMarcus turns into KG, and Roy turns into Paul Pierce (that one isn't that far of a stretch)..

OR, we need Brandon to turn into Kobe, and LaMarcus to be like Pau (makes you wanna puke, don't it?)..

Or Brandon could become Michael Jordan.

Brandon is already worlds better than Paul Pierce.

I'd love to find a way to win a championship....any way. I just firmly believe that our best bet is with Oden. Sadly, that bet's odds have decreased with his recent injury. But I still believe in Greg!

Each of the team's you just described either had dominant post players at power foward and/or had one of the two top shooting guards to ever play the game, and in Jordan's case played alongside one of the best defensive point forwards to ever lace em up.

Without Greg, as constructed this is probably a decent playoff team with maybe a WCF appearance in their future, but almost no chance of winning a title unless LMA makes another gigantic leap forward defensively and offensively and some other player (maybe Batum?) evolves into a fantastic two-way player. Even then it's tough road to hoe, when the likes of LeBron, Wade, Howard, et al. stand between us and the finish line.

I hear ya. I've always been worried that our "dynasty years" were at odds with LeBron's "dynasty years."

Which is why this team probably needs a dominant post, Roy is not and will never be a better wing than Lebron, we need to be able to exploit mismatches other ways.

most swingmen are pretty interchangable for the most part...it all comes down to the big men...which is why we did draft Oden over Durant.

Not unless we miss the playoffs and get lucky in the draft. Lakers won but they did have two centers both pretty damn good. The Bulls won because they had IMO the best player that ever played the game. I really doubt we could win unless like I said we got very lucky and landed John Wall or someone like that and we actually played him. Roy would also have to be able to play with him which I'm not sure there are a lot of PG's Roy wants to play with except Blake.

Rather have Brandon scoring 20 and have a healthy Greg.

Bynum, their starting center, averaged 6.3 ppg & 3.7 rpg. I expect Joel to give us more than that.

I like Joel and he is a great backup center but Bynum is better and Gasol can play center and and PF.

Uh, we're 1-1 since he went down...

Now if we win 20 of the next 25 you'd have a point.

I love the Blazers and I hope they could build around Roy/LMA and win a championship but I really doubt it without Oden or another good big man.

Roy is too good not to get his numbers.

The player that can save this season is LMA. He REALLY needs to step up and be consistent.

2-1 since Oden really didn't play much in the Houston game and that's when Roy finally lit up.

Wait.... it was Oden that was holding Roy back? I thought it was Andre Miller?

    I'm so confused..... :(
