I knew you would do that since you hate Collins, ha ha.

It was from the most respected poster on a Detroit Forum I frequent.

I don't hate him. I just don't think he's gonna be much more than a rotational player.

What forum? Link it! I wanna see what they're saying

It's from Detroit Bad Boys. No one is discussing it, he just mentioned it in the comments of a fanpost.

Ignoring the contract and injuries, Blake Griffin would be perfect. I really like Collins, but I’d probably do it anyway. Rather give them McCollum though.

As long as Olshey is our GM and won't trade CJ, I think a trade like that for Griffin is our best option.

He makes sense for a young team like Brooklyn that has a lot of creators and needs a stretch-4 and lob target to make it work.

If that's all itd take, I do it in a heartbeat. Qe'd have assets left over for an Otto Porter Jr. trade.

If healthy, how good is a Lillard/McCollum/Porter/Griffin/Nurkic lineup?

The issue is if healthy. Blake has only averaged 44 games a season over the last 5 years. So there is no way to count on him. What do you do the other half of the season when he is taking up a third of your salary cap.

Gotta take a risk at some point. His injury history would likely be the reason we'd be able to get a guy averaging 25/8/5 with 36% 3pt shooting and good ball handling and solid defense at PF.

Well his injury history, his contract, and his personality. Not saying I wouldn't take the risk though. But I would make sure he has matured at least a little.

Blake Griffin is overpaid, injury prone, and doesn't play Defense.

    No. Thanks.

Hes an average defender. The dudes also averaging 25/8/5 with a 59TS%, so I don't know how you can say he's overpaid. Maybe because he's injury prone but if he's healthy for a full season, he's definitely not overpaid. His health is why he'd come cheaper too, and we need to take a risk at some point and at least he wouldnt leave and would be a part of a 4-year window.

Griffins contract is 100m over the next three years. 34.5m next year, 36.9 the year after that and 38.9 the year after that. To take on that kind of money for an aging star, who Injury prone is a nice way to put it, that relies on athleticism that is disappearing and can't shoot nor is any good on D. You would have to give me assets to take on that contract not have us give them up.

True story: I actually had a dream that we'd traded for Griffin a couple of weeks ago.

I've got to stop eating cheese before bed.

Once in 10 years has he been able to play an entire season. So the odds of him being healthy for a full season are about 10 percent. 30+ million a year for someone who plays only on average a half a season a year is crazy.

He's overpaid because he misses near 30 games a season.

He's had 3 seasons where he played 80+ games.

No other season has he played in more than 67 games.

    I'm good.
