That sounds perfectly sane, and pretty likely given our current young roster. How many players to we have that even know the playbook we're going to have to throw out? All new offense now!

Future core? Well, of current players on the roster. I believe Vonleh is our future PF with Aminu backing up both forward spots. Vonleh is a few years away so I expect Aminu and Davis to play a majority of those PF minutes.

Go-to scorer types are needed at SG or SF. We need a second scorer who can create his own shots.

Yeah, I see us gathering some shorter young people to go with the very tall young people we gathered up last week, and seeing if any combination of them does surprisingly well, or if any individual player breaks out. Then, depending on if they play well with Dame, these breakout players will be kept or dealt for other players. Rinse and repeat until we have a starting five that Dame likes, and a bench he can trust.

If Vonleh and Leonard are starting Aminu can start with them at SF. There is so much shooting with those two big men Aminu lack of shooting isn't an issue. The problem will be with Ed Davis and/or Plumlee on the court; then if Aminu is put out there spacing will be a huge problem.

Yes CJ seems to be projected as the backup to both guard spots. We definitely need to add a wing that can defend. He either needs to be a great shooter or great at creating his shot or some combination of the two.

Strangely enough I think Nic Batum is the former starter that could most benefit this projected roster if our young players develop. We have about $50 million in cap room next summer. If he's healthy and regains his form I could see a scenario where we give Nic a massive contract to come back. Then we will have added Vonleh and our 2016 pick while giving Nic a year long vacation in Charlotte.
 
You gotta look at the positives out of all this. At least we still have a team. For now.

I agree. I don't care which combo starts and which come off the bench, but I think with the way the roster is now. (Subject to change) I would start either:

Leonard, Davis, Amino
or
Plumlee, Vonleh, Amino
 
I just don't understand all this love for Vonleh, he is not explosive, or aggressive, his passing is among the worst I have ever seen. He has a long reach and can make a few threes but that does not scream star in the making to me. He may as well be a younger version of Meyers Leonard.

On the plus side it's usually a little bit easier to find smaller guys that can play versus bigs that can play.

I'm not in love with our frontcourt now, but at least it's athletic and young which provides a glimmer of hope that they aren't done becoming the player they are going to be.

Neil is going to really have to nail his high lotto pick next year. /fingerscrossed.

He's very, very young, so at least there's the hope he might blossom into something much more. He has great size and he's a pretty fluid athlete, so you could definitely start with a worse foundation to build from.

Yah except he is so young you never know what he will be. Look at Kwame Brown or Sebastian Telfair. Both were supposed to be future stars both turned out to be rubbish. Penciling him in as the future of this team seems way premature to me.

You misunderstand. I have no idea if he'll turn out to be any good or not, but considering who and what we gave up to get him it was a pretty small opportunity cost.

So definitely expect growing pains since he's so young and unfinished, but isn't at least just a little bit intriguing to think of what he might become if he puts it all together?

Don't give examples of busts. There are a ton of busts. But there are some gems too. The GMs and teams that make it big take chances on the upside and it pays off. Having one prospect is fine for a team like this
 
Let's start a rumor that Paul George is available. He would fill out our wing need nicely.
 
Fast rebuild?

This team has been rebuilding since June 4, 2000. One playoff series victory in 15 years.

At this point just be happy we're not the Sonics.
