I would have liked to have seen him get more mid range/3 point looks tonight because I think that is a strength of his and a big reason why I was in support of us drafting him.

When I said rebounding instincts I was more talking about how he puts himself in position for boards. Something I like paying attention to with bigs. Meyers is awful at it.

True, but no one was really looking to pass the ball. Kind of selfish play on both sides, but they're young so I don't really hold it against them. That's where hartenstein is ahead of others his age. Consistently looking for teammates.

Gotta take Drew Eubanks with our 3rd first round pick.

Leadership potential? I heard he has some attitude problems.

I just think he'll be a sub-30% 3pt shooter in the NBA. His jump shot looks like Josh Smith's.

This is probably a biased statement because we probably shouldn't.

He's a cocky teenager who plays with an edge. It might turn some off but it hasn't stopped coaches from praising him and his work ethic. He's got that Nurkic in him. You need guys like that. I wouldn't call it an attitude problem and it won't stop him from becoming a leader. Plenty of players like that have become leaders of their respective teams.

    anyone watch the Hoops game last night? if so how did Hartenstein look? below are his measurements and a few comments;

Height (w/shoes): 7'1.25 Weight: 250 Wingspan: 7'2.25 Hand Length: 8.75 Hand Width: 10 Standing Reach: 9'1 Country: Germany This year's Hoop Summit measurements mark the first official numbers we have for Isaiah Hartenstein since the 2014 Eurocamp, when the German power forward was just 16 year old and underwent athletic testing, but wasn't weighed or measured. Standing 7'1.25 in shoes with a strong 250 pound frame and a decent 7'2.25 wingspan, the 18 year old has tremendous size for a big man at any level and ranks as the tallest power forward propsect in our database all-time comparing favorably in terms of size and length to recently drafted oversized fours like Frank Kaminsky and Thon Maker. Hartenstein will have no problem seeing minutes at the center spot, the position he likely ends up being best suited for defensively. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/article/2017-nike-hoop-summit-world-select-team-measurements-5854/ ©DraftExpress

Lonzo Ball isn't overrated Bones? :dunno:

Lots of players are overrated in the draft. That's why it's a crap shoot. I went to the Nike hoop Summit last night and sorry Brandon Roy's player that won a State title and is on his team. All intents purposes this kid is supposed to be a stud. He looked like garbage to me. IJS it's not just Europeans that are overrated. Almost everyone is.

I was there too. Hartenstein was so fucking soft... Meyers or not, I wouldn't draft that guy...

DX has us taking OG Anunoby.

Intriguing player. Great build, off the charts athleticism. At this point kinda reminds me of Kenyon Martin.

I don't think lots of players are overrated, just certain people overrate certain kinds of players.

Ball is overrated. I don't think he'll be an all-star or even a top 10 PG.

Agree, I have Hartenstein's ceiling as poor mans Crabbbe, and that is being very kind. Would not draft him.

Did you see any players at the Nike Hoop Summit that impressed you or stood out?

I am having a hard time getting a good read on the Euros.

How was Troy Brown Jr. at the Nike Event last night? I hear he's a great talent but needs to work on his shot.

You can't say he has leadership potential because he's cocky though, because that's a stretch. There's no one like Nurkic so you can't compare the two. If he doesn't get much PT, he'll cause problems, just like Nurkic did in Denver.

It also didn't seem like he plays with an edge. He was pretty soft.

Drafting Hartenstein was always about physical tools + potential skillset, with IQ/mentality being question marks.

It's why he's a back end lottery/mid first prospect. He's not even 19, and all players in that range are flawed in some ways.

He's not my first choice with our first but I didn't see anything last night that would keep me from drafting him with the MEM pick if he falls.

Also, I maintain that Dennis Smith is the best PG in this draft. Bar none.
