    This is just sad.
Olshey is the third longest tenured GM…and he’s never taken a risk.
    He’s a bad gm

I truly believe olshey don't know how to build a team that's actually balanced. His vision is not a winning vision. So far there still enough bad team in the west e every year that's allow us in the playoffs. But we really right now we just 7-10 team in the west. I wasn't put my opinion in yet but with the new editions we just 36-44 win team.

Do the Blazers even have an analytics guy - or do they have one and Neil just ignores him?

    Yes, here he is:

If I had to guess, analytics is part of the reason why they've been attached to CJ as well as this group for so long. Their numbers are showing something we can't see. Their models also don't seem to factor in playoff results....

Michael Jordan for me. His "Thank God, I didn't go to Portland", sealed it for me. I can't stand that prick.

Then you're okay with Dame leaving.

    I say go for it.

Is it possibe he's doing both?

Trying to increase CJs value, which might end up screwing things up by overvaluing him.

He's in a tough spot because if he gets someone of equal value for CJ, we're still a 1st/2nd round playoff team.

    "Try to save the franchise"?

    Haha

The Blazers existed without Dame previously, and it will exist in the future without him.

I know it's shocking to imagine losing Lillard for some, but... life would go on. He's not good enough to get us out of the first round on his own (even against a rather lousy Denver team)... and I think the team would be just about as likely to lose in the first round without him as we are with him so let's try to improve the team by getting as much value as we can for him before he gets hurt or gets angry.

Let me play devil's advocate here. If you move CJ for a PF of equal value, we become a better, more balanced TEAM. Doesn't that make us a bigger threat in a 7 game series?

Rather lousy Denver Team, are you high. No team with Jokic is lousy. And while they were missing key players, someone forgot to tell Morris and Rivers. They played great , & hit shots out of this world. Not making an excuse for Portland, only Dame brought it every night, but Denver isn't a lousy team without Murray, Barton, and Posey. They beat a ton of good teams down the stretch of the regular season without those guys.

It's not my models. But if they did, why would it think our team was good enough to run it back when we lost against a heavily injured Denver team?

So when healthy they would be even better than us.

You're making a great case for why we should blow it up and trade Dame.

Denver is like 4th or 5th in the west fully healthy.

As I recall, no CJ-based price tag has been specified for Simmons, as Morey has stated unequivocally that he is not interested in any deal with a CJ-for-Simmons framework. Would you like to elaborate on said price tag, por favor?
