Listening to what he had to say after being traded to Portland, he wants to do more than just "pick and roll, pick and roll" which is why he likes the idea of having shooters, so he can operate with the ball by himself like an old-school center would. The odd thing is that seemed to be missed by our coach and some others who the first thing they mention is how good a pick and roll target he is. There are writings about him that he is kind of delusional about his talent level, so I am interested to see how it all works out.
Not really for in game situations. Steven Adams can do that as well i ve seen in videos. Problem is they cannot make free throws and that outside shot might go in 1/10.
I don't care about his outside shot. We know he can defend, we know he can rebound and is great at both. If I was Stotts I would put him on the foul line and not let him leave until he can at least hit 65%
Deandre Jordan shot a career-high .773 at the free-throw line (exact same as Nurkic) by creating a routine before shooting and changing his stance. Watch the video it's kind of funny what he does before the shot.. There definitely needs to be an intervention for Whiteside.
