We would still have Dame and Nurk and Harkless... you make it seem as trading CJ for a young player is going to extremes

He's played against NBA players too:
    This one's in 2016:

    This was last Summer:

He scored 27 points against Porzingis and Latvia.

I think worst case scenario for Doncic is Hedo.

In answer to the OP...no, I won't trade CJ for the #4 pick....but if I were GM I'd trade him for the Greek Freak or Kawhi Leonard in a heartbeat.

Sadly nobody's going to make that offer.

Nuggets with Lillard would be nowhere near contenders and to put a package together to get him they would need to gut their roster (Murray, Harris and a pick at the very minimum and that is probably not enough).

Milwaukee have no chance to get him and neither do Spurs. Remember that we would need to accept a trade offer, it’s not as simple as him asking to go somewhere and just joining that team.

I haven't looked into Doncic, yet. However, I'm hearing the same arguments for Doncic that
I was hearing about Ricky Rubio. I wouldn't trade CJ for a young Rubio. Not even for a matured
    Rubio.

Rubio’s development has been somewhat halted by injuries. Still, the Utah version of Rubio is great and I think next season will be his ultimate breakthrough. His main disadvantage was inability to shoot the ball, he has been getting much better at it recently under Snyder and the rest of his game is great or at least very good.

His court vision and passing are what sets him apart from other players we could bring in.. at least for me. I love the Simmons type of point forwards.

He has that kind of feel to his game. They make everyone better.

@Wizard Mentor..A taller Rubio with an offensive game to go with the bbiq and passing ability.

    Yes.

I haven't been this hyped for an international prospect since Jokic.

IMO his skillset is more Roy/Ginobili.

Rubio never learned to shoot. Doncic can already shoot. Doncic has also played for bigger clubs (Rubio and Rudy were both on a very minor ACB team, the OTHER Barcelona team). Rubio is a better passer and defender than CJ, though. And it's not close in either case. (I wouldn't trade CJ for him just because we have Lillard.)

If you're interested, here is CJ's year compared with Rubio's year. I dunno what "VORP" is, but it looks like Rubio kicks CJ's ass in it.

Doncic will majorly disappoint if he's only as good as Rubio, which is a sign of how good Doncic already is.

To be clear: I love CJ's offense. He may be more offensively gifted than Lillard. He's like a shorter, less athletic Brandon Roy (and I mean that as high praise!)

If he was 3 inches taller and a good defender, I would not even be suggesting this.

I think that Doncic's highlights are not jump-out-of-your seat flashy and he can look a bit ground-bound. But I think that's deceptive. He's amazingly crafty, and he's certainly not below-average. Think of players like Harden and (my fave comparison) Paul Pierce. They didn't/don't jump out of the gym or blaze past people, they dominate with skill and craft. And Doncic is a SOLID guy - few 19-year-olds are 220+ lbs. Now, if he was in college you could say "well, he's just dominating because he's more physically mature than the other kids". But he's been playing grown men for years.

I think my biggest question on the roster right now is what is CJ worth? What do other teams think of him? Do they think he’s a borderline all star? Just a good number 2 or 3 option? If he was available what’s his value to those teams?

It would be temping and I would consider it. I think it would also be a lot easier to answer yes if Dame was younger and not entering his prime already. If you trade CJ for a high draft pick you just going to piss off your franchise guy and rightfully so.

I think Neil should really target Kris Middleton. I also kind of like CJ and #24 for Love and #8 then taking Michael Porter or Mikal Bridges.
