Less than two weeks to go. Team plays two more games before the deadline. Let's hear your predictions, not only for Portland, but for other teams as well. See if anyone gets anything right.

I'll start

Portland will trade the Cleveland pick and two of Leonard, Davis, and Ezeli.

I feel like it would be a missed opportunity to do nothing with so many bigs available. In the offseason everyone is looking to make moves. Have to take advantage of situations like these.

Agree 100%... it is rare to have so many big men on the market... what a blown opportunity by Neil if he does nothing. Can't afford to wait til off-season. Especially when you hear Philly almost traded Okafor for Pelicans 2018 pick... Blazers can and should beat that by offering both firsts... they will not draft a better prospect than Okafor with those picks

I'm not an Okafor fan, but we could probably have him for one lottery protected first. That seems like solid value, even if I'm not a fan of the guy.

I think we will stand fast until off season. But if we do it will be minor trade.

They will do something. If they can't get a quality big man, they will probably just help facilitate trades and pick up some 2nd round picks. Send out Napier to the Cavs for example.
Ezeli is an injury trap. Plan his trade value.

There's too much work to do to wait until the summer. We know exactly what we have now, and it's not acceptable. Make moves now and also be involved during the summer and draft. Got to be opportunistic to dig out of the hole they are in.

I really hope they put any thoughts of building through the draft out of their heads. The first step to "crappy roster recovery" is admitting you have a problem. Trying to fix these roster issues in the draft is like trying to fix a failing bridge with duct tape.

agree, he "might" be ok if gotten very cheaply and a 21/22 yrs of age is aready havin knee issues, I'd pass and go after someone like Nurkic or if available a guy like Vucevic

Due to our crazy cap situation, like it or not, the best option Olshey now has to improve this team's talent level is through the draft.

I do not see other GM's stepping up to help Olshey trade out of the mess he got himself into. But the GMs are lined-up to take advantage of Olshey if they can.

My prediction, no trade.

I don't think there will be a significant trade. An around-the-edges deal, like last year's Varejao affair, is certainly possible.

that would be sad as this team needs some changes badly, our front line is awful

Whatever it is, just have a plan. Either go full on rebuild or try to win. None of this halfway, wait and see bullshit.

Just don't trade picks. This draft is loaded.
Yeah, I agree with this one big time. We've heard the team isn't sure which way to go. They need to make a decision, and go for it.

That said, my guess is they'll raise their procrastination to a new level, and do nothing, or do some minor, irrelevant trade....

We have been linked to handful of players:

Nerlens Noel
Serge Ibaka
Jahlil Okafor
Andrew Bogut
Wesley Matthews
Jusuf Nurkic
Brook Lopez

It will be interesting to see if we can get any of these guys. With Tuner's injury the trade deadline may be quieter for us. We will see.

I predict tumbleweeds... I'm starting to lose my faith in NO. If we don't make a move... I'm not really gonna know how to feel until it happens...

Any trade we make should be to improve the future of the team. If you can't improve the future, don't do anything...wait until the draft and see what's available then. Don't trade draft picks for RFAs (Ibaka). Probably not a good idea to trade draft picks AT ALL until draft day.

I'd love to see us get rid of Crabbe...
If we can trade at least two of the following, plus Ezeli, I'll be at least moderately pleased.

Davis
Aminu
Crabbe
Meyers
Noah

If we can't trade any of them, then I fear that we should probably trade Plumlee even though I'd rather not. I have a nagging suspicion that we'll end up trading Harkless in what may turn out to be a less bad version of the Batum trade. If we DO trade Harkless we'd better get a draft pick that's no worse than high-teens.

Would love to see Meyers go elsewhere, some team must think he can be salvaged.... even if he can't (Denver maybe?)

Plumlee most likely should be moved also, don't think he will be retained next year. (Chicago might bite?)

Crabbe's shooting might entice a team but doesn't he have to approve of the team he goes to since his deal was a matched offer sheet? Thought I read that somewhere. (Orlando or Philadelphia seem to need his talents?)

I agree with the others above about keeping the picks we currently own, get a few more if able.

I loved to see Meyers go too. I'd love to trade those guys, but Trump has betters Odds of making America Great again then we do of trading both these guys.

I like most of this. Would rather keep Plumlee and Harkless so hopefully they make a move that will clear enough space to sign him in the off-season and get some picks.
