Love him and looking forward to the future but he is not ready. I think the 15th spot will be used for a guy who can fill that spot. Any ideas on who that might be?

Since this season is likely a bust in terms of doing anything serious, why not play him now (like we have) and speed the process of getting him "ready" , some gap filling PG is not going to make any difference

He's not a point guard. I don't know what the fuck Neil's issue is with having another point guard on the team, but he avoids it like the fucking plague.
Evan Turner was another pg and the entire fan base complained about him. You’re never happy.

Yeah, he was. He ran our backup pg spot on offense and was getting 4 APG in 20 min. You’re clueless.

Just because someone plays point guard doesn't mean they are a point guard.

Qyntel Woods played point guard for a while. Was he a point guard?

If we didn't get a real backup point guard in the off-season when hopes were high we sure as hell aren't going to get one now when we aren't going to make the playoffs.

I mean the only option would be Jamal Crawford but I think the Blazers want to give Ant as much playing time to learn.

If this had said "simons is not ready to drink" then itd be a factual statement.

Ant shot 18% from deep Monday....his overall shooting percentage is in the low 30s and that's with some good games early. Those are not 6 man numbers at this level....ET shot better than that..I was real up about this kid early but he's been a big disappointment for a stretch of games.

He's definitely not a true PG. I think he'll end up being at least a decent scorer though, he really needs to have more confidence first and foremost. But I do think it's 100% fair to say he's not ready for a large role on a good team, contrary to what Olshey and co. said. Many good players perform better than this in their first 22 meaningful games.

When riverman has given up on ant.... All is lost!

I predict Simons will be adequate at PG in his 3rd season, and a regular PG starter on an NBA team after that.

I posted the same thing after he'd been here only a month. I liked his make-it-look-easy long shooting, and his cautious court vision while dribbling (the opposite of Trent and McCollum).

On most of our rookies, I stake my territory early for bragging rights later. Then I can never find my old post.

Qyntel Woods! I miss this guy, he was great in Greece, below you can see his best highlight.

So you see him as a starting PG down the road versus a SG? I’m thinking he will be a legit SG mostly. I guess we have good wait before we know for sure?

If Simons was shooting 50 percent, what difference would it make as far as wins and losses?
I say probably no difference at all.
The difference would be this thread wouldn’t exist.

bad example as Woods played very little point guard in regular season games.

Simons has been very subpar lately and is actually hurting the team when he has been on the floor with poor shooting and turnovers due to poor decision making. He really needs to pick it up if he wants minutes.

I was ready to drink at 16. I got better at it by the time I was Simons age. I was an all-star in my prime. At least I thought I was until I traveled around for a month with some guys from Australia. Then I spent some time in Alaska. Talk about drinking superstars

Blazers over the past ten games:

We are getting outscored badly with him on the court, let's just say that.

As long as Dame and CJ is here he never start here as long as those 2 don't have a injury. But also Olshey construct his team to give Stotts no choice but to play him. That why you won't see another PG.

He sure isn’t. I was high on him early in the season and now I don’t know what I was thinking.

Well said. I was huge on him as well and now cringe every time he shoots. He’s nothing like we hoped he’d be

His overall shooting percentage is not is the “low 30s”. Were you reading your own post? Does that not seem wrong?

I’m going to consider this trolling instead of wasting time looking up the current stats.
