Zombie CJ for Whiteside?

The same Whiteside who makes his team's defense worse statistically? Yeah, that's just what we need right now.

These rumors would be a lot more interesting if the people making these trades up had a freaking clue about how the CBA works. Since both teams are over the cap, with CJ's PPP, it would take involving a team with a ton of cap space (hello Philadelphia?) to make this exchange workable at all.

This idea makes me gnash my teeth a little. CJ is a 20 ppg guard who can get his own shot, a good shot, just about whenever he wants. Whiteside feels like a gamble. I absolutely love his size and athleticism. On paper he seems like exactly what we need. I'm just not sold that he's there mentally. Seems like the typical only in it for himself kind of player.

CJ for Paul George sounds so much better or CJ for Brendan Haywood or CJ for Klay Thompson ...giving up CJ for another big isn't solving our problem

So to play devils advocate, you wouldn't trade CJ for AD?

Depends on the Center. And it depends on who fills CJ's shoes.

If you need a guard back if you move CJ...if you can do both, sure...I take AD all day long over CJ

Didn't Whiteside score over 30 on us recently?

Explain to me why that would be a bad trade. Mind you, I don't follow his career, so be nice.

Another thread quoting this bullshit news source? This message board man... @KingSpeed you're too smart to think this article has any sort of legitimacy.

This thread is from Dec 2016...….and it is as legitimate as any trade machine crap that's been hashed over and over and over...…..in 2016 many people would have traded CJ for a center

Riverman, the post you quoted was from the same day.

I don't bump threads.....I go to the newest posts and read through.....I had to check the date to see when it was created after reading it. Calling out KS for suggesting a trade in 2016 by someone who has suggested a billion trades gives me pause......I'll stand by my post

You're calling out a post from 3 years ago too, so ironically you're calling him out for something you're doing not him.

Bones wasn't calling him out for suggesting a trade three years ago; he was calling him out at the time for linking to a "BS source" as the basis for the thread.

Labinot was the one who bumped the old thread. I agree with Riverman that bumping an old thread just to laugh at someone is not constructive and should not be encouraged.

I agree with that--I was talking about his response to Bones' post from 2016, not his agreement with your comment about the bump.

Still an interesting look at the way things were viewed at the time.
It's funny to me that this was talked about. Not what the people said. But more the subject and the way players were viewed. I would never have thought about trading CJ at the time for Whiteside but you have to admit at the time it was much more plausible than today.
And now we have both!

The thread title isn't about linking a thread...it's posed as a question...however KS came up with his question is no reason to be told..."you're smarter than this".....but hey....it's not going to change much at this point. One might say any editorial that doesn't turn out as projected is a BS source …..my 2 cents would be to address the thread question and not discount the reading material of the creator of a thread.....some call CNN a bullshit source...some call Fox news a bullshit source....in the end like us, they're all just talking heads

here we go....so you're calling me out for calling him out for calling KS out.....I see

Pre-Nurkic, I would have at least considered it. Yes, in hindsight it worked out much better to go a different direction. At the time, we desperately needed a center.
