You want DMC be prepared to get Gay. Rudy Gay is the player the Kings really want to move.

I wouldn't have a problem taking Rudy Gay back with DMC. The Blazers are ready to win now. Develop/smelop.

    Under the radar move:

I'd trade CLE their pick back, along with our next available second rounder - 2032, for the rights to Osman Cedi.

I'd also love having Jrue Holiday here. He'd be that perfect third guard as he's a good defender, big enough to slide to SG (6'4), and can score, shoot, as well as create for others. He'd be a legit 6th man.

Maybe Turner for Holiday and a contract (Asik)? would work. Holiday can be had as he's on an expiring contract. I also think they'd give up a lot for Plumlee and maybe we could work something around that.

Pelicans Get: Evan Turner, Mason Plumlee, P.J. Tucker, '18 CLE 1st
Suns Get: Tyreke Evans, Meyers Leonard, '17 POR 1st,
BLAZERS GET: Jrue Holiday, Alex Len

Len and Plumlee are in the same situation contract wise. We shed $27M in salary in Turner and Leonard, and that allows us to pay Holiday in the summer.
Suns would start Evans at the 3 and have a great 6th and 7th man in Knight and Warren. They also clear up more minutes for Chriss and Bender at the 5.
New Orleans gets a center that fits great with Davis, and that high-low action would be amazing to watch. Turner is a great fit with AD as well due to his passing skill. They'd get something for their expiring contracts.

    Lillard (35) / Holiday (13)
    McCollum (33) / Holiday (15)
    Harkless (20) / Crabbe (28)
    Aminu (24) / Vonleh (16) / Davis (8)
    Ezeli (20) / Len (18) / Davis (10)

His contract is a significant advantage he has though, much like Ed Davis and Moe Harkless and makes all of them sort of important to keep. We can be sure that regardless which big we will get - Brook, Noel, whoever - they might soon be making $20M a year and we will have to balance the books. It seems that with recent Gobert and Adams contracts we will have to deal both Leonard and one of Crabbe/Turner to accomodate our next center. Even Plumlee will get way beyond $10M.

IMO thinking about this, the best case scenario we get a backup guard and move Crabbe to small forward to share minutes with Harkless. Then we move Turner, Leonard and maybe Plumlee for a center to share minutes with Ezeli, or move a package of Turner and one of Aminu/Davis for a power forward - cannot see who that could be though and also I would prefer to keep Davis due to his versatility and same for Aminu. Even if we have just Ezeli and a new center at 5 and Crabbe/Harkless at 3, it is enough because both our power forwards mentioned can fill in there.

I like where this is going. but really, backup guard isn't all too needed, we still have bazz, who seems like a guy that needs more min to really play to his potential. so if you were to move turner, nards, plums for a solid big we wouldn't be out all that much. you let him run point with cj out there and still have the rest of our guards and guard/sf's to cycle around that.

Well, if Crabbe starts at SF then he cannot at all times cover for CJ at shooting guard, and Napier can't play there either. I am not saying we have to get an expensive star to fill in at SG but a competent back up would be fine. I like the idea of starting all of Lillard, McCollum and Crabbe, it could be lethal.

I was kind of figuring that the only change would be in the second group, bazz/cj/crabbe/noah,ed/fez

starting crabbe is indeed a decent idea, but we already don't, so why not keep each core group together? but I mean really, its nice that we can have a discussion in that regard, shows again how we have depth in that SG/SF/PF area of the court

Because if the Blazers got a player like Rudy Gay he would instantly take Lillards place as the leader of the team. He would be the exact same as he is playing with the Kings.

The reason I look at any trade possibility is that likely none of our starting front court would start for any other playoff team in the West. That is a big hole for Dame/CJ to pull out of every night. It's not that they can't be contributors but I struggle to see any other contending team any of the three would start for.

That means this team needs an upgrade and they have the depth to do some type of consolidation trade.
